The Klymiarven Hotel has now at last received planning permission and is now being converted into apartments both for dwellings and holiday accommodation and will be completed in late 2007.
It will consist of a six apartment 3 story new build structure built in keeping with the Old Manor House and conversion of the Manor House into six apartments for holiday accommodation.

The new build apartments will go on sale in the new year.

The accommodation is situated in East Looe being some 18 miles from Plymouth on the south coast of Cornwall. The view of the busy harbour some 500 yards below the site is laid out as you would see in a picture postcard. The position of the apartments has often been described as “the best in Looe” come see for yourself. Situated as it is the apartments are an ideal base for touring the miles of rugged but beautiful coastline with many fishing villages and National Trust properties within easy reach.

Parking at the apartments is unusually easy with room for at least 14 cars. It is only 2-3 minutes walk down to the town and a further 2-3 minutes to the sea. Access to the apartments should be from the Barbican direction and not from the Town with its very narrow streets.

Activities available nearby include sea fishing, golf, trout fishing, scuba diving, shark fishing, outdoor bowling, tennis courts, children pleasure park.

At Liskeard there is a new leisure and sports centre complete with swimming pool.

Accommodation of the dwelling apartments.

The new build apartments are all 2 bedroom built to a high standard with all the modern facilities. They will have a service lift and good storage room. The view will be over the harbour with the balconies set at an angle to give a view out to sea.

Accommodation of the holiday apartments.

There is a mix of apartments from 1 bedroom to 3 bedroom and of various sizes all converted to a high standard. The Manor house is of Georgian style with the usual thick walls and high ceilings bought up to date with modern sound insulation and individually central heated.

History - the Old Manor House overlooks a busy harbour that was steeped in fishing and sea trading over 100’s of years. The original cellars of the hotel date back to the 1600’s with the present Manor House being built in the early 1800’s.The old tunnel round the cellars is still in being, probably used for smuggling, as the cellars were originally used for the kitchens and staff quarters. Originally called “Waterloo Villa” later shortened to “Waterlooville”, the manor house having a connection with Wellington and the Battle of Waterloo. Looe had a thriving boat building industry up to and including World War Two. The port was a busy outlet, shipping tin and sand that was brought down by rail. The railway that runs, Liskeard to Looe, and used to extend right onto the quay, obviously for the shipping of raw materials, now stops at the river bridge. The 8 mile journey to Liskeard is a scenic trip of approximately 30 minutes and is used by locals and tourists to shop and explore the old market town.
There are many places to visit within the area having historical interest.National Trust properties like, Cotehele House, Antony House, Mount Edgcumbe House and Lanhydrock House and gardens. Well worth visiting are the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
